What Incell means on the iPhone 6S Plus
Your iPhone 6S Plus shipped with a 5.5-inch Retina HD display, and that is an LCD. Incell is an LCD too: the touch layer is built into the display cell itself rather than bonded on top as a separate sheet, which keeps the panel thin and the touch response direct. So on this model an Incell screen is the same kind of display you had, not a step down to a different technology. It is the sensible, lower-cost way to get a iPhone 6S Plus back to how it was.

This is a complete front display assembly for the iPhone 6S Plus, fitting models A1634, A1687 and A1699. The glass, the digitiser and the LCD come as one part, already assembled, so the repair is a transfer job rather than a rebuild: your own home button, front camera, earpiece and proximity sensor move across from the old screen.
The iPhone 6S Plus is an older phone, and a screen is usually all that stands between one and another year of use. The front bezel is white, so match it to the colour of your phone’s front rather than its back.
Which faults this screen fixes
- Cracked or shattered glass, whether or not the display still works
- A black, blank or flickering display
- Lines, blotches or dead areas across the picture
- Touch that does not respond, or responds where you did not press
- A backlight that has failed, leaving a very dim picture
It does not fix a fault that sits behind the screen. If the phone will not charge, will not switch on at all, or has no signal, the screen is not the cause.

Will my iPhone report an unknown part?
No. iOS only began checking displays with the iPhone 11, so a iPhone 6S Plus has no such message to show. Parts and Service History does not list a screen on this generation, and nothing appears in Settings after the repair.
Compatible iPhone 6S Plus model numbers
This screen fits A1634, A1687 and A1699. They are the same phone sold in different regions, so one screen covers all of them. Check yours in Settings > General > About, or use Apple’s guide to identifying your iPhone.
It does not fit any other iPhone. Screen assemblies differ in size, connector and mounting between models, so a screen from a neighbouring model will not seat or plug in.
How to fit the iPhone 6S Plus White Incell replacement screen
For technicians and experienced repairers. The panel is the easy part: the care goes into moving your own components across without damaging them.
- Power the phone down. Work on an ESD-safe bench with the phone off.
- Warm and open the display. Soften the old adhesive, lift the screen from the bottom edge, and support it rather than folding it back on its cables.
- Disconnect the battery first. Then release the display and digitiser connectors under their bracket.
- Transfer your components. Home button, front camera, earpiece and proximity sensor move to the new screen. The home button must be your original one for Touch ID to keep working.
- Test before you seal. Reconnect and check the display, touch, Touch ID, the front camera and the earpiece before any adhesive goes down.
- Seal it up. Fit fresh display adhesive, seat the screen evenly and press around the edges.

Change-of-mind returns are accepted on unopened parts in new, unused condition within 7 days of delivery.

Is an Incell screen as good as the original?

Will my iPhone show an Unknown part message?
No. iOS only began checking displays with the iPhone 11, so the iPhone 6S Plus has no such message to show.
Will Touch ID still work?
Yes, with your original home button. Touch ID is paired to your iPhone, so move the button across from your old screen undamaged. A replacement button would work as a button, but not for Touch ID.
Will this screen fit my iPhone 6S Plus?

Do I need anything else to complete the repair?

Will my iPhone still be water resistant after the screen is replaced?
Not reliably, and that applies to any screen replacement rather than this part in particular. Apple seals the display with factory pressing equipment that a repair bench cannot match, so treat a phone that has been opened as no longer water resistant. Fresh display adhesive holds the screen firmly to the frame, which is what it is there for, but keep the phone away from water afterwards.
Will replacing the screen void my iPhone warranty?
Our 12-month warranty covers this panel against manufacturing defects. It does not cover damage caused while fitting, physical damage after delivery, or water damage. Cover on the phone itself is between you and Apple, since this is not an Apple part, so check with them first if your iPhone is still inside its Apple warranty.
How much do you charge to fit it?

How long does a screen replacement take?
About an hour, generally, when we fit it in our Queenstown workshop. If you are fitting it yourself, allow longer: the component transfer is the fiddly part rather than the panel itself.
