Why a new adhesive is needed
The factory adhesive between the screen and the frame tears the moment the screen is lifted, and it cannot be stuck back down. Close the phone without a new one and the screen will not sit flat: the edges lift under a thumb and leave a gap for dirt to collect in.
That means a new adhesive every time the screen comes off, whether for a screen replacement or for any repair that opens the phone from the front.
Why pre-cut
Each adhesive is shaped for one model’s frame, which makes it faster and cleaner than working from a roll. There is no measuring, no trimming and no guessing at the width around the cutouts.
Choosing the right one
Match the adhesive to your exact iPhone model. Some older models come in black or white: pick the colour of the border around your screen. Each product page lists the Apple model numbers it fits, and you can find yours in Settings, then General, then About.
Fitting it properly
Remove every trace of the old adhesive, then clean the frame with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry. Test the new screen before sticking anything down, so the phone only needs closing once. With the screen seated, press evenly around the edges and keep gentle pressure on it with a screen clamp while the adhesive bonds.
Water resistance
A new adhesive is not guaranteed to restore water or dust resistance. Factory seals are applied with pressing equipment a repair bench cannot match, so keep a repaired phone away from water.
