Resealing after the phone is open
The factory seal between the display and the frame is destroyed the moment the screen is lifted. It cannot be reused. Closing the phone without replacing it leaves a gap that lets in dust and moisture, and gives the display an edge that lifts under a thumb.
Pre-cut strips are shaped for a specific model, which is what makes them faster and cleaner than working from a roll. There is no trimming and no guessing at the width around the camera cutout.
Getting a seal that holds
Remove every trace of the old adhesive before the new strip goes down
Clean the frame with alcohol and let it dry completely
Clamp or weight the phone while the adhesive cures, and follow the stated time
Battery work needs its own strips, listed under iPhone battery adhesive, and general purpose tape is under adhesives, glue and tapes.

Can I reuse the original adhesive?
No. It stretches and tears on removal and will not seal again.
Does this make the phone waterproof again?
It restores the seal, but no third-party repair can guarantee the original rating. Treat a repaired phone as splash resistant only.
Why pre-cut rather than a roll?
It is faster and more consistent. The strip already matches the frame, so there is no trimming around the cutouts.
