Will my iPhone say the screen isn’t genuine?
Only if the display IC isn’t transferred during the repair. That chip carries your phone’s original display data, and this panel supports moving it across from your broken screen. Do that, and iOS treats the new display exactly as it did the old one.

It’s the most common complaint after a cheap screen repair, and it comes down entirely to whether the person fitting it does that step.
Which faults this screen fixes
Replace the display when the panel itself has failed. These are the symptoms this part resolves:
- Cracked or shattered glass, whether or not touch still works
- A black screen on a phone that still rings, vibrates or charges
- Dead patches, or touch registering in the wrong place
- Green, pink or white vertical lines
- Burn-in, blotches, or one area permanently dimmer than the rest
- Flickering that survives a restart and a software update
- Glass lifting away from the frame
Worth ruling out first: if the phone shows no sign of life at all, no vibration, no charging light and no sound, the fault is more likely the battery or the logic board than the display. Glass that has lifted without being dropped usually points at a swollen battery pushing the screen out of the frame.
iPhone 15 Pro Max Hard OLED replacement screen overview
This iPhone 15 Pro Max Hard OLED replacement screen is a complete front display assembly, fitting models A2849, A3105, A3106 and A3108. It replaces a cracked, blacked-out or unresponsive screen with a rigid OLED panel matching the original in size and resolution.
Released in 2023 in a grade 5 titanium frame, and the first Max to reach an 89.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, which leaves barely any bezel to work against.

What Hard OLED gives you on the iPhone 15 Pro Max
Your iPhone 15 Pro Max left the factory with a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display at 1290 x 2796, around 460 pixels per inch. This panel matches the size and resolution.
Your iPhone 15 Pro Max shipped with ProMotion at up to 120Hz. This Hard OLED panel runs at 90Hz, so scrolling is smoother than the 60Hz aftermarket panels in the same price bracket, but it does not match the original refresh rate. Soft OLED is the grade that does.
OLED lights each pixel individually, so black is genuinely black. An Incell or LCD replacement lights the whole panel from behind, which turns blacks grey and loses definition when you tilt the phone. Hard OLED keeps the OLED behaviour at a lower price than Soft OLED. What’s involved in fitting it
This isn’t a straight swap. Your front camera, earpiece speaker and the sensor assembly behind the screen all have to come off the broken panel and onto this one, and the display IC has to move across if you want to avoid the unknown part warning.
Thin bezels plus a stiff titanium chassis mean the suction cup does most of the lifting and the picks do very little, and a 15 Pro panel is 19 cm² too small to stand in.

The honest summary: Soft OLED is the closer match, because COP is how Apple builds the panel and it is why that grade costs more. Compatible iPhone 15 Pro Max model numbers
This screen fits A2849, A3105, A3106 and A3108. They are the same phone sold in different regions, sharing identical panel dimensions, so one screen covers every one of them.
It does not fit the iPhone 15, 15 Plus or 15 Pro. The 15 Plus shares the 6.7-inch size but not the assembly. Check your model number in Settings > General > About before ordering.

How to fit the iPhone 15 Pro Max Hard OLED replacement screen
For reference if you’re fitting it yourself. Work on a clean bench with proper tools, and take your time on steps three and four, because that’s where most repairs go wrong.
- Prepare the workspace. Use a clean, dust-free surface, a precision screwdriver set, plastic picks and a suction cup.
- Open the phone. Warm the edges of the display to soften the adhesive, then lift the panel carefully with suction and picks.
- Transfer the sensor assembly. Move the front camera, earpiece and sensor bracket from the broken screen onto the new panel without stressing the flex cables.
- Transfer the display IC. Move the display chip across using a heat gun and BGA tools so the phone keeps its original display data.
- Write in True Tone. Use a programmer to copy the True Tone data to the new panel.
- Reassemble and test. Connect the display flex, check the screen, Face ID and Haptic Touch, then apply fresh adhesive and close the phone.

Warranty and returns
Supplied with a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. That covers faults in the panel itself, so it doesn’t cover physical damage after delivery, mistakes made during fitting, damage caused while transferring components, water damage, or wear from repeated removal and refitting.
Change-of-mind returns are accepted on unopened parts in new, unused condition within 7 days of delivery, in line with our terms and conditions. If there’s any chance you’ll return it, leave it sealed.
Frequently asked questions
Will my iPhone show an Unknown part warning after this screen is fitted?
Not if the display IC is transferred from your original screen. This panel supports that transfer. Without it, iOS lists an unknown part under Parts and Service History and reports that it can’t verify a genuine Apple display. The screen still works either way, but the message stays.
Will True Tone still work?
Yes. The panel supports True Tone write-in, which copies the setting across to the new display during the repair.
Will Face ID still work?
Yes. Face ID depends on the front sensor assembly, which is attached to the back of your original display and paired to your phone rather than to the screen. Transfer it undamaged and Face ID carries on working.
Does this screen run at 120Hz like the original?
No. This panel runs at 90Hz. The iPhone 15 Pro Max shipped with ProMotion at up to 120Hz, and no Hard OLED panel is made to match it. You get a smoother result than a 60Hz replacement, but Soft OLED is the grade to choose if matching the original refresh rate matters to you.
Is Hard OLED as good as Soft OLED?
Both are OLED with true blacks. Soft OLED uses COP bonding, the same construction Apple uses, which makes it the closer match and the more expensive grade. Hard OLED uses COF, which costs less and does not reach the original refresh rate on this model.
Will this screen fit my iPhone 15 Pro Max?
