How to fit the Surface Go 2 / Go 3 battery

  1. Power the device off completely before starting, since a punctured lithium battery can catch fire.
  2. Warm the screen edges and work a pick around the perimeter to release the display adhesive, then lift the screen.
  3. Disconnect the battery connector from the board before touching the cell.
  4. Lift the old cell out, working slowly, and never pry against it, bend it or puncture it.
  5. Fit the new battery, reconnect it, and check the device powers on and charges before resealing.
