MacBook Pro 13-inch Trackpad

MacBook Pro 13-inch Replacement Trackpad NZ
Replacement trackpads for the MacBook Pro 13-inch: A2251, A2289 and the M1 A2338. Silver and space grey, held in New Zealand stock.

Replacement trackpads for the MacBook Pro 13-inch

A trackpad that clicks in one corner but not another, or has stopped clicking altogether, is usually worn or cracked underneath. A swelling battery sitting beneath it causes the same symptoms, so check the cell before fitting a new trackpad.

Trackpads are finished to match the case, so silver and space grey are different parts rather than the same part in different packaging. The A2251 and A2289 share a trackpad; the M1 A2338 uses its own.

Buying in New Zealand

Both finishes are held in New Zealand. Everything else for this range is under MacBook Pro 13-inch Spare Parts, and fitting can be booked through the repairs service.

Orders placed before the 2pm cut-off dispatch the same working day and reach most New Zealand addresses overnight.

Questions answered

How much does a MacBook Pro 13-inch trackpad replacement cost?

Fitting starts from $187.00. The M1 A2338 sits higher than the A2251 and A2289.

Does the colour need to match?

Yes. Trackpads are finished to match the case, so order silver or space grey to suit the machine. The part is otherwise identical.

My trackpad clicks but the cursor jumps.

That points at the flex cable rather than the trackpad itself. The cable is listed separately under trackpad cables and costs a fraction of the trackpad.

Which trackpad fits my model?

The A2251 and A2289 share one. The M1 A2338 uses its own. Check the model number on the underside.

Could a swollen battery be the cause?

Often, yes. The cell sits directly under the trackpad, and as it swells it presses upward and stops the click registering. Replacing the trackpad without replacing the cell will not hold.
