Rear glass is bonded to the frame with a continuous seal. Once the back of a Galaxy S Series has been off, whether to replace the glass or to reach the charging coil beneath it, that seal has to be renewed before the device goes back together.

Is this the same as screen adhesive?

No. The rear seal follows a different outline and has cutouts the display seal does not.

How long before it can be used?

Follow the adhesive’s stated cure time and keep even pressure on it while it sets. Rushing this is what makes an edge lift later.
