Cells are held with stretch-release strips. Done properly the tabs stretch and let go cleanly and the old cell lifts straight out, but the strips are consumed doing it, so every OPPO A Series battery replacement needs a fresh set.

What if the pull tab snaps?

Work isopropyl alcohol under the cell to weaken the adhesive and lift it with a plastic tool. Never bend or puncture a battery to free it.

Can I use ordinary double-sided tape?

You can, but the next person to open the device will have no pull tabs and a much harder job.
