Identifying the tablet first

The model number on the back of the tablet, beginning with the letter A, is the only reliable identifier. Screen size does not separate the generations, and the digitiser and battery connectors moved between them. Other lines are under iPad spare parts, and fitting is available through the repairs service.

Batteries are the other common job on this line. An Air several years old that will not hold a charge through a morning is describing a worn cell rather than a software problem, and a replacement returns it to full use.
