Display assemblies for Pixel handsets
Pixel screens are supplied as a complete assembly: glass, digitiser and panel bonded together, replaced as one unit. A cracked Pixel where touch still works is living on borrowed time, since moisture reaches the digitiser through the crack and takes the touch layer with it.
Assemblies are listed per model. Pixel generations differ in the fingerprint reader position and the flex routing, so a screen from a neighbouring model will not fit.
The in-screen fingerprint reader
Recent Pixels read fingerprints through the display. After a screen replacement the reader normally needs recalibrating, and on some models it works reliably only with a genuine assembly. That is worth knowing before ordering rather than after fitting. Other Pixel parts sit under Google Pixel spare parts, and fitting can be booked through the repairs service.
